There are many ways to help Warmer Winters achieve its mission of gifting warmth to neighbors in need. Most of the monetary donations received are used to buy thick, heavy yarn that produces the warmest hats, scarves, sweaters and mittens. The more heavy yarn we have, the more warmth we can gift. The need has increased beyond our resources, but for people who receive the warmth we gift, we make a difference.

A $50 donation will give 4 small children warm, new sweaters A $100 donation will give 8 adults warm hats, mittens and scarves. A $500 donation will give heavy sweaters to 25 children and 15 adults. Of course, we need people to knit and crochet all the yarn we are able to purchase with monetary donations. We seek people of all ages and all skill levels. If you would like to learn to knit, we teach anyone over 7 years old. All volunteers receive free yarn and needles (which volunteers make themselves). Warmer Winters is not handicapped accessible but we can make arrangements to get yarn to anyone who is mobility impaired.

Warmer Winters has volunteers from different parts of the country and trulyappreciates the wonderful, warm items we receive from out of state volunteers.

There are other ways to volunteer for Warmer Winters:
We attend many craft fairs and sell crafts made by volunteers. One of ourpopular items is a little bear we purchase. Volunteers knit hats, scarves and vests for these little bears. We are looking for people who would like to make little vests and hats. There are volunteers who also make jewelry which we sell as well as crocheted figures. We're always looking for volunteers with crafting skills. When we attend crafts fairs, we also need people to staff craft tables. Other ways to help Warmer Winters is to help plan events, help run events, take pictures, teach knitting, design flyers, and many other opportunities.
